KBShimmer - Hex Appeal, Sugar Plum Faerie, & Shipwreck

Hey guys!

Sorry I've been neglecting the blog a bit lately. I've been using Instagram alot, and I guess it's made me kinda spoiled because it's so much easier & faster to post photos on there. I promise I will continue to post on here at least once a week, but to see more consistent posting you can follow me on Instagram @NailsAndAWestie (click here to be taken directly to the desktop version of my page).

Today I have some incredibly awesome KBShimmer polishes to show you. Hope you enjoy!

And as always - click on any pic to enlarge :)

Hex Appeal is a royal blue jelly with hexes of various sizes & colors including silver, pink, blue, & purple, with tiny silver bars, and loads of holographic micro glitters throughout. This polish is breathtakingly beautiful! Here is 3 coats of Hex Appeal with 2 coats of topcoat.

Sugar Plum Faerie is a purple crelly (creme/jelly) with hexes of various sizes & colors including pink, holographic green, purple, & blue, with lots of holographic micro glitter throughout. The color combos in this are simply to die for! Here is 3 coats of Sugar Plum Faerie with 2 coats of topcoat.

Shipwreck is a slightly teal leaning blue jelly filled with hexes of various sizes & colors including green, holographic yellow, blue, & purple, with teeny tiny copper bars (they are in fact so small, that to the naked eye they just appear as dots; it wasn't until I looked at my macro shot that I saw they were indeed bars). This one was a bit sheer, so I ended up doing 4 coats to get it opaque. I'm glad I wore it alone though, I absolutely love the dimension it gives to the polish! Here is 4 coats of Shipwreck topped with 1 coat of topcoat.

I purchased these from the KBShimmer website for $8.75 each.

I absolutely love every polish from this collection, so I decided to show them all together! I'm gonna let the photos do most of the talking here, but I will say that application on all of these was fantastic. They are all pictured with 2 coats of polish, and 1 coat of topcoat.

Dandy Nails - Float On

Float On has tiny matte hexes of white, pink, blue, & purple, with medium sized satin lavender hexes, all in a clear base. I absolutely love the color combo on this one! Application was good, but it did take 4 coats to reach opacity. I was determined to wear this one on it's own, and in the end it was well worth it!

This is 4 coats of Float On, with 1 coat of topcoat.

I purchased this from the Dandy Nails Etsy shop for $8.

Amy's Nail Boutique - Roxy

Roxy is a matte glitter that's loaded with tiny coral-ish pink and purple hexes in a clear base. I chose to wear this 3 coats on it's own, but it could easily be worn over a base color. Application was good, I used a combo of dabbing & regular brush strokes. Overall, I like this polish, but the color isn't "me", so I'm letting it go - it's currently up for grabs in my blog sale.

This is 3 coats of Roxy, with 2 coats of topcoat.

I purchased this from the Amy's Nail Boutique Etsy store for $4.50.

Pahlish - My Oblivion

My Oblivion is a blue jelly loaded with gold holographic hexes of various sizes & bars. For those of you who aren't fans of bar glitter, don't fret, the hexes far out number the bars! I wasn't sure if I was gonna like this one on.. but I ended up absolutely loving it! Application was good, I used a combination of dabbing & regular brush strokes. The combination of the blue & gold makes it look teal, & the holographic glitters are super sparkly, bottom line - this polish is fantastic!

This is 3 coats of My Oblivion with 1 coat of topcoat.

Cult Nails Spontaneous & KBShimmer Clown Puke

Cult Nails Spontaneous is a deep purple creme with tiny violet glitters throughout. Application was smooth & easy. Being a lover of all things purple, this was an automatic winner for me!

This is 2 coats of Spontaneous with 1 coat of (bubbly) topcoat.

KBShimmer Clown Puke is a multi colored glitter in a clear base. I have to admit I was kinda bummed out by this one. Other pics I had seen online looked more boldly colored than the bottle I received (which seems to have an overdose of gold glitter in it).. but I guess that's just to be expected with some indies.

This is 2 dabbed coats of Clown Puke over Cult Nails Spontaneous, with 2 coats of topcoat.

Mattified:

I purchased Spontaneous from the Cult Nails website for $12, and Clown Puke from the KBShimmer website for $8.75.

Tough As Nails Lacquer - It's All Over Now

It's All Over Now has hexes of white, blue, violet, lavender, & iridescent green, with white shards, all in a soft grey jelly base. Application was great with little to no manipulation required. Though it dries a bit lumpy looking, topcoat fixes that right away! I find this polish very soothing to look at. The color combos are just perfect.

This is 1 coat of It's All Over Now over OPI I Vant To Be A-Lone Star (which can be seen by itself here), except on my ring finger which has 3 coats of IAON by itself. I have to say they look pretty identical! All fingers have 2 coats of topcoat.

I purchased this polish from the Tough As Nails Lacquer Etsy page for $5.50.

Once Upon A Polish - Queen of Hearts

This is the final Alice In Wonderland themed polish that I have to show you guys. This one happens to be bitter sweet because the Esty shop I bought this from no longer exists, but it's such a cool polish that I didn't want to not share it.

Queen of Hearts is a pretty glitterbomb that has red & black hearts, and hexes of gold, white, & black, all in a clear base. I did have to do quite a bit of fishing to get the hearts out, but I don't mind that. I then placed them where I wanted them by using a toothpick (unfortunately I wasn't as gentle as I should have been & some of the color, particularly the red, got scratched off a little bit). It wasn't so noticeable in person, but of course the camera magnifies every flaw! I'm still really happy with how it ended up looking.

This is 1 dabbed coat (with some extra fishing/placing) of Queen of Hearts over my "Not Too Shabby" franken (which can be seen by itself here), with 3 coats of topcoat.

With flash:

Doesn't the Queen of Hearts' face resemble Fred Flinstone? Ha!

I purchased this from the Once Upon A Polish Etsy page. Unfortunately, that seller has since closed up shop. However, I noticed recently that Hit Polish released a Queen of Hearts polish that is somewhat similar (it's sold out at the moment but Rachel is very good with restocking), here is the link to see what it looks like: http://www.etsy.com/listing/119002071/mini-5ml-queen-of-hearts-alice-in?ref=usr_faveitems
