D & R Apothecary - Halloween

I'm seriously addicted to indie polishes right now and one of my favorite brands is D & R Apothecary. I found them about 2 weeks ago while I was perusing Etsy, and over those past 2 weeks I have made 3 separate purchases totaling in 8 polishes! I only bought minis because that's my preference, but they sell full sized bottles as well. Their polishes are so unique and pretty, I'm sure I will be buying even more soon!

Halloween is a super awesome glitterbomb filled with orange hexes & bars, purple hexes & squares, black hexes, bars, & shards, and green/holographic hexes! I just couldn't wait till October to wear this! So I layered it over yesterday's Color Club Fly With Me mani. The photos below are 1 coat of Halloween (using the dabble method) and 2 coats of top coat.

..and the sweet macro goodness!:

Check out D & R Apothecary on Etsy, their mini bottles are $3.85 & full sized are $8.50. Their customer service is fantastic and their shipping is super fast! You can also check out their Facebook page to see more of their polishes and swatches. They also make soaps, lip balms, lotions and other bath & body type goodies!

Color Club - Fly With Me

This polish positively glows on your fingertips! It's almost neon but not quite.. it's a bright lime green glass fleck shimmer. Very unique and very cool. It is quite sheer though.. I had to use 4 coats to get full coverage! Next time I'll layer it over black, or maybe even white.

It starting raining as I was doing my little photo shoot, so there's raindrops in some of the pics.. and the sun was playing peek-a-boo yet again.. but thankfully the photos came out color accurate!

Essie - Play Date

This is a beautiful bright lavender creme. Just my kind of color! I have to tell you that the consistency wasn't great - it was very thin and watery, but thankfully it's perfectly opaque in two coats.

Lex - Tuilleries

If you like strawberry ice cream and nail polish (or more importantly nail polish that looks like strawberry ice cream), then boy have I got the polish for you! Have a look!

Outdoors, overcast (the sun was playing a bit of peek-a-boo today..):

..and last, but certainly not least.. the macro shot!:
yum yum yum - I'm seriously craving strawberry ice cream right now!! (then again, maybe it's just PMS..)

This polish is quite sheer, I ended up using 4 coats for the photos above.. but it was worth it, it's really pretty. Pink is not a color you'll catch me wearing too often, but for this I just had to make an exception. Plus I got it for free (that's right FREE)! I while back (like a month ago) there was a special offer from Sneakpeeq. I don't remember the specifics exactly but you had to go through their site and "peeq" at some items in order to earn "badges" so I did that and earned the free gift badge, hooray! So I chose this polish because it caught my eye, and they really didn't have much of a selection. It took a long time to get here - 3 weeks to be exact! But it was worth the wait, and after all it WAS free, so I have no complaints!

Unfortunately I was just on Sneakpeeq a little while ago, and they don't have any polishes at the moment :(  However they do have jewelery, clothing, & skin care products so maybe you'll find something you like!

Here is my invite link: https://www.sneakpeeq.com/r/NjMzMDgx

"Everyone Wins-
Get 10 friends to join, and you'll receive a $10 gift badge to use in any of sneakpeeq's stores! As more friends join through you, you'll receive additional badges as our thank you for helping us grow.
Tip : the badges get bigger the more friends you recruit!
The possibilities are endless, so peeq, share, and invite today!"

You can also purchase this polish from Lex's website for $10

KBShimmer - Watercolor

I am totally enamored with this polish!! It is so ridiculously beautiful. It contains hexes (of various sizes) in some of my favorite colors - deep blue, purple, magenta, and holographic/silver! - all in a beautiful medium blue jelly base. I used 3 coats of Watercolor, followed by 2 generous coats of top coat to smooth everything out.

The pictures I took with flash look bright blue, which is not as color accurate as the pictures without flash, which show that it is actually a medium blue.

This pic is my favorite - just look at all that yummy glitter!!

..and last but not least a macro! (taken with flash):

I purchased this polish from the KBShimmer website, they have so many incredible polishes I seriously wanted them all, but I only allowed myself to buy 4! Also you can check out KBShimmer's Facebook page and look at all the pretty swatches of the polishes they carry!

I purchased my bottle of Festival from Harlow & Co., but it can also be purchased from Llarowe. It is a bit pricey ($15 for an 11ml bottle), but I think it was well worth it!
